ArtFest is a yearly festival held in June of each year highlighting the artists of Spokane and offering their work for sale to the public. Food, music and art are the focus for three days each year in the Browne’s Addition neighborhood.
Ceramics, drawing, glass, jewelry, leather works, metal work, mixed media, musical instruments, painting, photography, and wood crafts are all offered during this festival.
Kids and adults alike are welcome.
The Jundt Art Museum
This museum is on the Gonzaga University campus with 2,800 square feet of exhibit space. Exhibits include pieces from Dale Chihuly’s glass works, bronze sculptures, paintings, ceramics, photography and a special section highlighting Gonzaga’s extensive prints collection.
The museum is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. every weekday.
The Spokane Symphony
The Spokane Symphony is a major cultural treasure in Spokane Washington. At this time their shows include the Nutcracker Ballet, Beethoven and Dvorak and a Fall Chamber Soiree.
The symphony also provides local community events and community gatherings like the “instrument petting zoo” where kids can get a hands-on experience seeing the instruments the symphony uses first-hand.
They also are offering classes to elementary and high school students in music and master classes for experienced musicians.
A visit to the city may not feel complete to many tourists without a stop at the symphony.
INB Performing Arts Center
If theater is your thing, the INB Performing Arts Center’s 2017-2018 season is guaranteed to have a show you’ll enjoy.
The center hosts more than just theater, and it is home to many local cultural events. It is a large venue with 2,600 seats so it draws some of the best national shows to Spokane WA. Symphonies, music shows, conventions, ballet and road shows are all among their offerings each year.
Shows currently offered include the 20th Anniversary Tour showing of Rent, the play Tuesdays with Morrie, The Wizard of Oz National Tour and Motown the Musical.
